"Jake!" a beautiful voice said. It was Renesmee's. I looked up and wiped my face on my arm. The look on her face was the sorriest I'd ever seen. "Oh, Jacob, Jacob, Jacob, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you! I love you!" I stood.
"Nessie!" I said, ready to forgive and forget. Whatever it took. She ran into my arms, sobbing.
"I'm--so--sorry!" She sobbed. I stroked her hair and back, while she cooled off my feverish (for a werewolf) back with her tears.
"Nessie, it's okay. I forgive you. You're okay. I love you. You're okay." I repeated.
"I love you too!" she said. Like I had, her shoulders shook, and she heaved and took a shaky breath. "I love you. I don't want to hurt you. I didn't know how upset I made you."
"Shhhhhh," I whispered. When she pulled away, I wiped her eyes. Her beautiful face was stained with red. I put her head in my hands and kissed her. She didn't seem to want to stop, but then she took her lips off of mine and pulled me back into a hug. We sat down in the grass.
We talked for hours. She told me that she didn't know that she even liked Alec that much. It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing. And besides..._Leah._
When it was time for her to go, I drove her back in my Rabbit. When I looked over at her when we arrived at her house, she was asleep. Without making much sound, I leaned back and grabbed a fleece blanket and put it over her, scooting over to put my arms around her. I was asleep in a second.
When I awoke, she was still asleep in my arms, but we had moved while we were asleep. The seat backs down, we were spread out, she was curled into my hug, head on my large bicep. I didn't move, in fear of waking her, so with my finger, I traced patterns down her arm, watching her sleep.
It was a beautiful thing, Nessie asleep.
I leaned down and kissed the top of her head. It was overheating. Oh, shoot. Like me, Nessie was very warm. Very unlike a normal vampire. But then again, she was far from any normal vampire. I gently removed the blanket from her body and tossed it on the floor.
This action made her awake.
"Jacob?" she looked up from me, groggy and smiling.
"I'm here."
She yawned. _I love you. Thanks for keeping me warm._ She pushed her thoughts into me, holding my hand.
"Oh, Nessie, no problem. I looked at the clock. It was ten-fifteen, P.M. "Let's get you inside."
I carried her over to the forest where her cottage was and into her room. I held her steady while she changed into pajamas and lifted her into her bed, closing the covers around her and tucking her in, just I like I did when she was little. "Good night. I love you."
She took my hand. _I love you, too. Please stay here._
"Of course." I said, and took a blanket from the edge of her bed to put on her floor to sleep. Everything was okay when she was with me.
